Practical ways to inspect a space
Manual observation remains important. Look for objects that appear unusually positioned, have an unexplained opening or lens-like reflection, or are connected to an unfamiliar power source. Check common hiding places such as clocks, chargers, smoke detectors, vents, and decorative objects, but do not dismantle electrical equipment or alter property that is not yours.
You can also review the available Wi-Fi device list if you control the network. An unfamiliar device may deserve investigation, but a device name alone does not prove that it is a camera. Conversely, a camera that is not connected to the network will not appear there.
If you find an object that genuinely appears to be a hidden camera, document its location without tampering with it. In a hotel, rental, workplace, or other managed setting, report the concern to the responsible authority.
